School holiday fun, sorted! Treat the kids to a quick, easy, and mouth-watering dish that brings together the best of both worlds – cheeseburger flavours and pasta. It’s the ultimate combo they’ll love, and you’ll love how simple it is!
Ingredients
500g Pasta Vera Teddy Bear pasta (or any small pasta)
500g ground beef
1 small onion, finely chopped
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 cup ketchup
2 tbsp mustard
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 cup beef broth
1 ½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
Salt and pepper to taste
2 tbsp olive oil
Optional toppings: chopped pickles, fresh parsley, and sesame seeds (for a burger bun look!)
Method
Boil the teddy bear pasta in salted water according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up as it cooks. Add the chopped onions and minced garlic, cooking until the onions are soft and fragrant.
Stir in ketchup, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, and beef broth. Let it simmer for about 5-7 minutes until the sauce thickens. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Stir in the cooked pasta and mix well to coat the teddy bear pasta with the cheeseburger-flavoured sauce.
Sprinkle cheddar and mozzarella cheeses over the pasta, stirring until the cheese melts and everything is creamy and well combined.
Garnish with optional toppings like chopped pickles, fresh parsley, and a sprinkle of sesame seeds for a fun cheeseburger twist. Serve!
